How to integrate Shelter Management System and Adopets
The purpose of this document is to give steps on how to integrate the shelter management system and Adopets system in order to pull in the selected animals into the inventory section of rescue and make visible and available the selected animals in the pet listings (rescue site) and iFrame code script (admin site).
ShelterBuddy
You can begin an integration between ShelterBuddy and Adopets by utilizing the admin site. To start, go to the admin site, and select the integration > actives section. You will then select Create new Integration.
From here you will be directed to follow the process of creating the mapping. To start, make an integration description. You will want to make this relevant to the shelter (follow the example - shelter name+location). You will additionally select the integration type (this will be choosing the shelter management system from the list. For this purpose, you will select ShelterBuddy.)
After you select ShelterBuddy, the system will ask you to select the shelter (you should have already created the shelter profile previously before this step in admin) and you will select the location. For one-location setups you will simply choose Headquarters (this is default selection unless a shelter with multiple locations says otherwise). It will also then ask you for the login information for the ShelterBuddy site. You can do this by going to project.shelterbuddy.com and selecting the shelter from the dropdown (the shelter should already be created in ShelterBuddy previous to the point of which it enters Adopets onboarding). Copy the specific web address for the Shelter (IE: https://testtoday.shelterbuddy.com/) along with the SB Support login ID and Password (default is also found in OnePassword).
Once you fill out that information, hit continue. This will prompt you to the mapping page. Here you will need to know a few key elements in order to fill out the information correctly. You will need to know a search group ID number (if utilizing search groups), care status numbers (those are found in the system options>animal statuses key), and general payment setting (default 10). You will also want to set it to FIND if you want the system to also pull in Foster animals and make visible (or if you want them in the inventory but not visible and hidden in the system in first pull in you would toggle off visibility). Hit save once key elements are filled out (Search Status, Search Group, Payment Method ID, Foster Pets, and Start Visibility) then hit continue.
You are now ready to connect! Hit Connect and let it load into the next site.
Once connected you should see the setup completion screen. You will notice if it is connected correctly because it will showcase animals that have filtered in. If you did not connect correctly, you will not see animals and will it be set at “0”.
To test if this is readable in the rescue site, login to the shelter rescue site and check All Pets.
