How to Create a Search Group in ShelterBuddy (USA & Canada)

This is part of the onboarding tasks for Adopets when it comes to integration mapping for animals. This page is a helpful tool in general if you are needing to review how to create a search group for various reasons.

 

Step 1: Login to the shelter specific ShelterBuddy site. You can do this by going to project ShelterBuddy site here, selecting the name of the shelter from the dropdown, and inputting the SB Support login information found in OnePassword. When you login the http:// site should then contain the shelter name in the web address.

 

Step 2: Go to the administration tab in the right hand side of your webpage and select. This will allow you to access another page where you can then scroll down too Search Group and select.

 

After selecting Search Group, you can access the options. You will select Add New Group. You will also be able to see any other search groups that have been created. You will create the new Search Group Name and hit the button Add Search Group.

 

 

Once you have hit Add Search Group you will be prompted on the next screen to add Source or add Status . You will select Add Status to begin adding statuses to the search group.

 

You will add the statuses using the and/or logic, and by starting with “and” first and hitting Add Status.

 

All other additional statuses you want to include will be in the search logic of “or”. Repeat until you have all statuses you want within the search group. Each time it will bring you back to the admin Search Group screen where you will see all statuses added.

 

Now you have successfully created a Search Group. For Adopets purposes in integration steps, you will reference the group ID number that will be found in the search bar and go back to your Adopets integration mapping instructions, found here.
