The list is updated at the beginning of each month.

To Validate a single Email address:

  1. Confirm with the customer which email they wish to use (this will be used for all emailing from Shelter Buddy - it can be a "no reply" email if they wish)

  2. Leave a message on the Slack channel #priority-support-bot with the following information:

    • Customer Site Name

    • That they wish to validate an email address for emailing via SB

    • The email address in question

    • Link to ticket if available/required (for context)

  3. The engineers will then kick-off the validation process

  4. Notify the customer that this has happened, and ask them to look out for the email.

  5. To finalise the process, they must click the link in this email, just like validating a personal email when you join a new site.

  6. Ensure the email address is set up in Customise Options:

    1. System Options > Customise Options > emailModuleSender and email

    2. Done

To Validate a Domain:

  1. Leave a message on the Slack channel #priority-support-bot with the following information:

    • Customer Site Name

    • That they wish to validate the DOMAIN for emailing via SB

    • The email address in question

    • Link to ticket if available/required (for context)

  2. The engineers will provide a list of C-Names to provide to the customer, along with the following text:

Thanks for this. We have started verifying your domain with AWS. Attached are c-name recordsets for your IT team to apply to your domain. This AWS help guide may help them as well:
    https://docs.aws.amazon.com/console/ses/verified-identities/verify/domain

If you have any questions or problems, please let us know.

  3. Notify the customer that this has happened, and ask them to look out for the email.

  4. To finalise the process, they must follow the instructions in the AWS help guide.

  5. Ensure the domain is set up in Customise Options:

    1. System Options > Customise Options > emailModuleSender and email

    2. Done

  6. They can now use any email from that domain to send emails via Shelter Buddy.
