Setup Found Animals (24Petwatch) Microchip Uploading

This process takes you through the set up for uploading animals to the "Found Animals" microchip site.

Set up: 

1. Go to System Options > Modules

2. Locate Found Animals and switch the option to "ON"

3. Go to Upload Locations > There should be an option for Found Animals. 

   • If there is not a location already visible, follow these steps: 

     • click [+Create]

     • Set the Upload To dropdown to Found Animals

     • Set the Description to match the Upload To dropdown exactly

     • Enter this URL: ftp.24pet.com

4. Add the username and password provided by Found Animals to the site in question. 

5. Go to System Options > Customise Options > FoundAnimalsPRCPetProEmail.  From here enter the email address of the shelter (may be supplied by found animals)

6. Return to Welcome/Search page

7. Click Admin > Found Animals Microchip Upload link will now be visible. 

8. Enter a date range and click Download File

9. All microchipped animals that were adopted within that date range will be downloaded onto an excel spreadsheet. 

10. Click Validate and it should list each row that does not meet the following requirements: 

    • Either a phone or email address

    • firstname and lastname required

    • Microchip is 15 characters long but is not numeric only.

    • Microchip is 10 characters long but has characters other than numbers or letters.

    • Microchip is 9 characters long but does not start with a leading 0.

    • Microchip is 9 characters long but has characters other than numbers or dashes.

    • Microchip is not 9, 10 or 15 characters long.

11. To send to company, click "Send to Found Animals."
