Troubleshooting Foster Animals/Reports

October 26, 2023 at 5:36 AM

If there are animals not reporting or displaying correctly that are in foster or were in foster, these tips will help you figure out what the problem is.

  1. To be considered 'In Foster' an animal must go through a complete Foster process (i.e. they can't just change a status in Admin and expect it to work). The process is just as important as the status, if not more so.

  2. To be considered 'In Foster' an animal must have a valid Foster status as the primary status. Sub-statuses don't count towards foster statistics or functions.

  3. In order for an animal to be counted as no longer in foster, all that needs to happen is for a non-Foster status to be applied to the record. Even if that status is later deleted from the file, the animal will still be counted as 'no longer in foster'. This means it will not appear on "currently in foster" reports such as 279 and 60, nor will they show on the Foster home's file under "Animals Currently In Foster".

  4. An animal must have the Foster Instructions page completed before the foster process is considered finalised and the animal officially "In Foster". If this page is not completed, they won't report or behave correctly. (Note: this is the section where you add the dates in foster and the reason for foster, etc).
